A Spot for the Scotts: Getting Ready for a Big First Birthday!

I can't believe that Natalie is getting ready to celebrate her first birthday! Boy do I remember how I felt this time last year......big and pregnant! What a difference a year makes! Natalie took her first steps on August 8. She started by standing up and with a little encouragement took 2 steps and then sat down slowly and carefully and clapped her hands! She has since moved up to 8-10 steps at a time and is so proud of herself once she's done it. She goes to bed around 8:30 and gets up around 7:30 or 8:00. She still takes long naps in the morning and afternoon. She is eating more and more "big girl" food like chopped beef and chopped chicken and cooked vegetables and scrambled eggs. She LOVES bread -any and every kind, preferably toasted or with a little cheese on it. She has (finally) cut a tooth on the top to go with her 2 on the bottom and looks like there are 2 or 3 more that should be popping through on the top sometime soon. She also likes to feed us her food by holding it out and putting it close to our mouths. She also likes to feed Lily and Lily sits expectantly underneath Natalie's high chair at each meal! She says "Mama" a lot and she says "Da." She also says "Uh-oh" a lot, whether there really is an uh-oh or not. She still loves bathtime and often goes into the bathroom, points into the bathtub and tries to climb in. She also LOVES to play "Where's Natalie?" We have a box that her car seat came in that is her newest favorite toy. She will crawl into it and be really still and quiet until someone says, "Where's Natalie?" a few times. Then she will pop her head out quickly and smiles so big for us to say "There she is!" We love her more with each and every day and are looking forward to watching her eat her first birthday cake!
